What To Expect
Our first stop is the ancient city of Silves, the ancient Arab capital of Algarve. You will be able to see the Silves Castle, one of the best well preserved Moorish castles in the country, and the Silves Cathedral, the main Gothic monument in Algarve.
Then climb the Monchique Mountains to Foia- the highest point of the Algarve. Have free time for wine tasting and taking spectacular photos. Then enjoy a stop for lunch (not included in tour price) but not before basking in glorious views on the way through the mountains.
Then head for Lagos, an ancient maritime town that Prince Henry the Navigator called home. It was here that he sent ships to Morocco and Africa. Visit some of the town's most well known sites, including the Saint Anthony's Golden Church, fort, old town, the site of the former slave market and more.
Finally, we will go to Sagres, Cape Saint Vicente; the most southwestern point of Europe known as the "End of the word". Visit the strongest lighthouse in Europe, Baleeira, a beautiful fishing harbor and passing by the Fortaleza; home of Prince Henry's School of Navigation.
