Downtown’s pedestrian mall, the Freemont Street Experience was conceived in the 1990s to draw people to that part of Las Vegas. Today, Millions of lights and over 500 watts of sound combine to present the world’s largest and most amazing light show, which is held every night. Throughout the year, free concerts and special events are staged here. Now a major downtown attraction, the Fremont Street experience also hosts the city’s annual New Year’s Eve (complete with fireworks on the display screen) and is home to the Neon Museum.
The lights from Fremont Street, one of Las Vegas oldest street, illuminate many hotels and casinos nearby. They are: Binion's Horseshoe, California Hotel and Casino, Eldorado Club, El Cortez Hotel and Casino, Fremont Hotel and Casino, Fitzgerald’s Casino and Hotel, Four Queens Hotel and Casino, Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, Golden Nugget, Gold Spike Hotel and Casino, Main Street Station Casino, Brewery, and Hotel, Neonopolis, the Pioneer Club, Plaza Hotel & Casino, and Vegas Club.
