What To Expect
Go on a guided walking tour of Auckland city, one of New Zealand's most promising cities that are surrounded with spontaneous tourist attractions that will leave you wanting for more.
This tour starts with a stroll around the Aotea Square, a large public square where festivals, parades, community events, open-air concerts, and gatherings in the city are usually held. Catch glimpses of the Auckland Town Hall and the famous Waharoa Arch, a highly-creative seven-meter high gateway characterized by five wooden carvings of different Gods.
Next, head out into Queen Street where you may be able to see the city's two well-known cultural attractions, the Civic Theatre (a theatre that seats more than 2,300 people) and the Kate Sheppard Memorial Fountain.
Continue on to the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, a gallery considered to be the country's largest art institution. This gallery contains over 15,000 splendid works of visual art. Enjoy a majestic view of the city's Sky Tower on your way to this gallery.
Visit the scenic Albert Park, a park located at the heart of the city. Indulge in listening to the stories and secrets of this park from your witty tour guide. Head over to the Vulcan Lane and High Street to discover fun facts about the city's past along with its local cuisine and trendy shopping centers.
Afterwards, come to Lower Queen Street where you will be able to admire two important Maori sculptures located on the waterfront. These sculptures were commissioned to characterize New Zealand's art scene from way back.
Stroll along the Queen's Wharf where you can enjoy seeing The Cloud (a 180 m long pillarless multi-purpose event venue and exhibition floor), the historic Shed 10 (a 100-year-old cargo shed which served as Auckland's default terminal for its cruise industry), and the beautiful Ferry Building (a building that represents the importance of ferry transport in the early twentieth century).
Walk along Auckland's waterfront piers and enjoy views of the Harbor Bridge (8-lane motorway bridge), Devonport (harborside suburb), Waitemata Harbour, and the Rangitoto Island.
This tour ends at the Queens Wharf, a short walk from the tour start point.
