What To Expect
In the midst of the Cordillera Mountains in Northwestern Philippines lies an enchanting town called Sagada of the Mountain Province, one of the 6 provinces of the Cordilleras. On this 3-day tour from Banaue, experience the pleasant climate of Sagada and unfold the hidden gems of this humble town.
Enjoy a two-hour trip from Banaue, with stops to numerous sightseeing spots along the way. Upon arrival in Sagada, check in at Olhabinan Guesthouse, a charming haven with style reminiscent of European mountain chalets. Your tour guide will remain at your service during the entire trip and customize the tour to suit your physical capabilities.
Take a morning hike through the lush and picturesque Echo Valley, where you can shout and hear the sound bounce around the forest. Walk along easy hiking trails and into the famed hanging coffins of Sagada. The locals practice of attaching the coffins to the mountain comes from a belief that underground burials isolate a person from the natural world. Pitched on a cliff, the coffins can be clearly view along the road.
Then, take a two-hour hike from Sagada and wind down a mountain trail to reach the beautiful Bomod-Ok Falls. You will also visit the smaller Bokong Waterfalls, a natural swimming pool that drains into an underground river.
After your day excursion, enjoy delicious dinner at the Yoghurt House, one of the few restaurants in the Philippines which serves home-made yogurts and other dairy products.
Get ready for an exciting caving adventure to one or two caves of Sagada. Explore the small caves of Sumaguing which offers a perfect spelunking experience for beginners. If you're looking for a more thrilling activity, follow your guide to the junction of Lumiang and Sumaguing Cave. See the famous burial cave and marvel at the spectacular mineral formation of stalactites and stalagmites on both caves. Finally, take a quick detour to Baguio Strawberry Farm, where you get to pick fresh strawberries right alongside the Ibaloi farmers, and Baguio Museum, a repository of the artifacts of different ethnolinguistic groups of the Cordilleras provinces.
Your three-day Sagada experience ends with a drop off at Manila in the evening.
