Brunei Proboscis Monkey River Safari

Board an open deck local wooden boat and cruise along the Brunei River passing the Water Village and the Capital City. Get a view of two different worlds, a modern developing capital city of Brunei and the nostalgic serenity of the biggest Malay Water Village in the world.

The River Safari will also pass the biggest residential palace in the world with 1,788 rooms which is also the official residence of His Majesty The Sultan of Brunei. Afterward, we will start to cruise slowly under the mangrove trees which is the cradle for a myriad of marine life. See fish that can live both on land and water. Perhaps, we will get the opportunity to witness the blue-throated and small red kingfishers take a killer plunge into the water to catch small fishes.

We will make a few stops under the mangrove trees and look out for the rare proboscis monkey which usually comes near the water in the early morning and dusk. Observe this fascinating monkey with its large bright orange pendulous nose found in Borneo and Sumatra of Indonesia.
