Cambodia - 7 Days / 6 Nights - Bangkok to Angkor Wat

TOUR SUMMARY
Our bicycle tour Angkor Wat is an incredible way to see Cambodia. Starting and finishing from Bangkok and ending in Siem Reap - home to the legendary Angkor Wat. We drive to the border near Chantiburi and stay the night at a resort next to the Cardaman mountains that separate Thailand from Cambodia. We discover the fascinating city of Battambang, before reaching Siem Reap, we take time to explore the temple complexes of Angkor home to thousands of years of Khmer history.

RIDING PROFILE
We ride approximately 275 km mostly on asphalt roads and wide dirt trails. Most of the rides are on flat terrain through interesting countryside.
There is very little traffic outside of Bangkok and Siem Reap and most of the time we share the roads with ox carts and occasional vehicle. The trip is point-to-point, apart from the loops ridden at Angkor, and fully supported by supported by a well-equipped air-conditioned support bus.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Bangkok - Soi Dao 25 km
Meet in Bangkok and transfer to Soi Dao on the Thai border. Optional afternoon ride in the area surrounding resort. Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 2 Soi Sao - Pailin 40 km
Ride out into Cambodia on a paved road that cuts through the heart of rural Cambodia to Pailin, home to many former Khmer Rouge leaders. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 3 Pailin - Battembang 85 Km
Ride north west to Battembang along quite and scenic roads. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 4 Battambang - Siem Reap
Cross the Tonle Sap by boat towards the lost city of Angkor at Siem Reap, cruising past floating villages and sunken forests. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 5 Siem Reap 42 km
Ride "Grand Circuit" visiting Angkor Wat in the morning then Angkor Thom, Ta Prom and a host of lesser temples. Breakfast and Lunch included.

Day 6 Siem Reap 50 km
Ride to rarely visited temples that loops back to Siem Reap via Phnom Koulen Mountains and Bantey Serei. Lunch at a local restaurant near Bantey Serei. Follow quiet dirt roads away from tourists passing many rural communities. Dinner at the New Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC). Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 7 Siem Reap 40 km
Ride to Tonle Sap Lake. Take short cruise through floating villages. Lunch at floating village. On the return ride, stop at workshops of Artisans d’Angkor (wood and stone carving). AND/OR visit Landmine Museum of Mr. Aki Ra. Return to your hotel or transfer to the airport for the end of the tour. (The visit to the floating village will depend on water levels in the Tonle Sap lake) Breakfast and Lunch included.
