Cambodia - 14 Days / 13 Nights - Cycle Tour of Cambodia

Our bicycle tour of Cambodia is an incredible way to see Cambodia. Starting in Bangkok, we drive to the border at Soi Dao, near Chantiburi, a pleasant quiet border crossing before starting a ride through the length of Cambodia. As well as discovering the fascinating cities of Battambang, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh we take time to explore the temple complexes of Angkor. Riding south through the countryside, we explore Takeo, Kampot and the former French seaside tone of Kep Sur Mer. After relaxing on the beach in Sihanoukville, we head north To Phnom Penh with an overnight stop in Kirirom National Park. The trip will end in Phnom Penh.

Riding Profile
We ride approximately 600 km mostly on asphalt roads (some better than others) and hard pack dirt roads. Most of the rides are on flat terrain through interesting countryside.
There is very little traffic outside of Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville and most of the time we share the roads with ox carts and other cyclists. The trip is point-to-point, apart from the loops ridden at Angkor, and fully supported by supported by a well-equipped air-conditioned support bus.

Itinerary / Activity Schedule

Day 1 Bangkok – Pailin 17 km
Meet in Bangkok and transfer to Ban Pakkard on the Thai border. After crossing the border ride the short way to Pailin. Well known for its gem trade. Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 2 Pailin – Battambang 85 km
Ride into rural Cambodia to Battambang crossing streams and bridges. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 3 Battambang – Siem Reap
Cross the Tonle Sap by boat towards the lost city of Angkor at Siem Reap, cruising past floating villages and sunken forests. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 4 Siem Reap – 42 km
Ride "Grand Circuit" visiting Angkor Wat in the morning then Angkor Thom, Ta Prom and a host of lesser temples. Breakfast and Lunch included.

Day 5 Siem Reap 75 km
Ride off the beaten track today, ride quite back roads passing many small villages on our way to Banteay Srei. Continue on to Kbal Spean (River of 1000 Lingas), before transferring by bus back to Siem Reap. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 6 Siem Reap – Phnom Penh
Transfer to the Vietnamese floating village before catching the boat to Phnom Penh across Tonle Sap and along the Tonle River. Rest of day is at your leisure. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 7 Phnom Penh 35km
Early risers can cycle with the guides for a tour taking in Toel Sleng and the Killing Fields. The afternoon and evening are free to explore town. Breakfast included.

Day 8 Phnom Penh – Takeo 75 km
Head out of Pnom Penh into Cambodia's rural heartland. Time permitting Visit Tonle Bati, an Angkor period temple, before continuing on to Takeo. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 9 Takeo – Kep 105 km
Riding the back roads to the old French seaside town of Kep Sur Mer. Enjoy a sundowner overlooking the view from our hillside resort. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 10 Kep - Kampot 35 km
Visit Rabbit island and enjoy a tropical beach before the short afternoon ride to Kampot. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 11 Kampot - Sihanoukville 105 km
Ride along the coast passing fishing villages and rice fields. After 60 km, hit main road and cycle south to Sihanoukville. Fit riders may make it in time for lunch on the beach. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 12 Sihanoukville
Two options: chill out at beach in Sihanoukville or take bike and explore town and countryside. Dinner is your choice. Breakfast included

Day 13 Sihanoukville – Kirirom National Park 40 km
Transfer approx 2 hours to national park. Afternoon ride uphill to waterfall. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 14 Kiriromnational Park – Phnom Penh
Transfer up to Phnom Penh, either drop off at airport or city hotel. Breakfast included.

Tour Information

Total Distance: 611 km
Number of cycling days: Six full days and four half-days
Road Surface: This tour mostly follows asphalt roads and sometimes broken road or vehicle-width dirt roads, which may be smooth, gritty, stony, rocky, rutted, loose or hard-packed.
Support: Air-con minibuses follow the group the whole way.
Group: Minimum 4. Maximum 16.
Staff: Groups will be led by our local guide and our local support team. Larger group will also have a cycling assistant.
Food: All meals are included from Lunch on day I to lunch on day 14. Except lunch on day 7 and 12 and diner on days 4, 7 and 12.
Children - Children under 18-years old are not allowed to join this tour.
