Description

Discover little known details about Barcelona's famous sites! With the options we offer, you will get an overall view of Barcelona's multiple personalities. The order of your tour is flexible; it can vary according to the group's preferences, the starting and returning point, and the state of the traffic and even the weather. Avoid queuing with a reservation and a licensed guide. These are the ideal tours for an overall picture that the best the city has to offer its visitors.

We will see Montjuïc Hill, which is both a cultural (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), Fundació Miró, the German Pavilion (Miess Van der Rohe) and a sportive one (the Olympic Ring). It was urbanized in 1929 for the International Exhibition.

We will stop at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, which was part of the Olympic Ring, the nerve centre of the Olympic Games. We will also visit St. Jordi Pavilion, Picornell swimming pools, the University of Sport, Calatrava Communications Tower, etc.

We will visit Mirador de l'Alcalde (Mayor's Lookout). This balcony over the Mediterranean offers a panoramic view over the whole city and port. There is a monument here dedicated to the typical Catalan dance, the Sardana.

Between La Rambla and the sea beside the medieval Drassanes, which houses the Maritime Museum, the Columbus column was built to commemorate Columbus' return from America which was to the city of Barcelona where he was met by the Catholic Kings.

We will show you the seafront of the Old Port, which has been converted, into a popular city port near the city centre. There are many attractions such as the Aquarium, the IMAX cinema, restaurants, nightclubs and shops.

We will see the Arc de Triomf, the entrance to the 1888 Exhibition. The Arc is found at the top of a wide avenue with lovely Modernist lamp posts leading down to Ciutadella Park.

The beautiful Passeig de Gràcia is a central boulevard known for its luxurious design shops and famous international brands. You will find several Modernist buildings including two houses by Gaudí: Casa Batllò and Casa Milà or "La Pedrera."

We will also visit The Sagrada Família, an unfinished temple by the genius architect Antoni Gaudí, who dedicated the latter part of his life to this work. The Sagrada Família is a synthesis of his overall conception of architecture. The richness of detail and its significance need explaining in order to appreciate this fascinating and extraordinary building in full.

We will see the Avinguda Diagonal, a major avenue which cuts through Barcelona at an angle. This avenue is full of interesting contemporary architecture.

We will also see Camp Nou, the Barça Football Ground. Inaugurated in 1957, it is one of the largest stadiums in the world and home ground of the famous Football Club Barcelona- Barça.

We will have time for a guided tour of The Spanish Village, a complex that reproduces the towns and cultures of Spain with replicas of streets, squares, monuments and buildings from around the country. Built in 1929 for the International Exhibition, it is currently a center of arts and crafts.

You will have the opportunity to visit Barceloneta, the sailors' and fishermen's quarter from the 18th century that sits alongside the city beaches, and the Olympic Port, a stunning example of modern city architecture which was created for the Olympic Games in 1992.

We will stop at the Gothic Quarter and walk around one of the oldest and most beautiful areas of the city, where we will encounter the Gothic cathedral built over a 4th century basilica. Some interesting areas include chapels dedicated to the patron saints of guilds and the geese that guard the cloister.

We will visit Plaça Catalunya and La Rambla, right in the city center. Pure Mediterranean in nature, The Rambla leads visitors down to the sea through a variety of contrasts: old-style shops, ultramodern cafes, flower and newspaper stalls, landmark buildings, birds, street artists and Barcelona's most exotic food market.

We will also visit Park Güell, an unfinished residential garden-suburb designed by Gaudí and financed by Eusebi Güell. The park reveals all aspects of Modernism and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
