Your private guide will pick you up at your hotel for a Modernism Walking Tour of Barcelona.

Start visiting Palau de la Musica, which is home of the Catalan choir, l'Orfeó Català, and known for its excellent acoustics and exuberant modernism. Designed and built by Lluís Domènech i Muntaner from 1905 to 1908, the Palau was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. After a short video presentation, we will visit the major rooms of the building. Avoid the lines with your Fast Track entry tickets.

Then, discover the Four Cats that was a meeting point of the Catalan avant-garde artists at the beginning of the 20th century. This bar-restaurant-cafe was frequented by Pablo Picasso, who drew the menu. It opened on 12 June, 1897 and housed on the ground floor of Casa Martí, a neo-gothic building designed by the modernist architect Puig i Cadafalch. Puppet shows, Chinese shadow plays, poetry readings, concerts and, above all, painting and sculpture exhibitions were held here.

Continue to Plaça Reial (Royal Square) and see how it is inspired by neoclassic French urban architecture. At the end of the 19th century Gaudí undertook two consecutive projects; in one, the central fountain was surrounded by four lamp posts and in the other. there were only two lamp posts. The second project was chosen and today you can see the Fountain of the Three Graces and the two lamp posts designed by Gaudí.

You last stop will be in front of the Güell Palace that was designed and built by Antoni Gaudí between 1885 and 1889 for Eusebi Güell in Nou de la Rambla, a street in Barcelona. The façade made of white stones uses parabolic arches for the entrance, which was a novelty at the time. The sinuous forged iron bars and the eighteen chimneys which crown the building are of particular interest.
