What To Expect
The Budapest Card provides you with free public transportation, discounted entrance to several museums and discounts in more than 100 places in the capital from thermal baths to restaurants. It is worth to take the advantages of all the opportunities that come with the Budapest Card.
Free use of the BKV public transport system during the validity of the card on the following modes of transport: metro, Millennium Underground Railway, cogwheel railway, trams, buses, trolleybuses and suburban railway (within the administrative boundary of Budapest).
On suburban railway lines a supplementary suburban is required for journeys extending beyond the city; these must be purchased at the BKV suburban ticket offices before entering the railway.

Free sightseeing tours - The Budapest Card also provides two free walking sightseeing tours with an English-speaking guide. Tours last for approximately 2 hours and start at 10:30 in Pest and 14:00 at Buda. Meeting point will be indicated in voucher upon booking.
Other discounts - In addition, cardholders enjoy discounts ranging from 10-50% on nearly 100 different services (thermal baths, museums, sights, events, sightseeing tours and restaurants). The Budapest Card brochure includes a detailed description of discounted services which are available with the Budapest Card.
The booklet is an official publication about the capital edited by the Budapest Tourist Service Centre. It is annually published between January to December in 6 languages (Hungarian, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian). The brochure is available for every tourist who visits Budapest without any exceptions, and salesmen at the sales points of the Budapest Card are obliged to attach it to every card purchased.

Each card guarantees only the FREE USAGE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION in Budapest for one adult and one accompanying child up to 6 years of age. No other discounts are available for the accompanying child.
Once you have filled in and signed your card, you do not have to worry any more about validating tickets when traveling, you just show it to the controllers or at the cashiers and you get free public transport and the discounted services right away.
