What To Expect
Your tour in El Alamein begins with a visit to the Military Museum, where you can see displays of weapons, military garb and tanks. You will be introduced to the actions of Montgomery, Rommel and the others who participated in the battle.
The next stop is the WW II Cemeteries, located on the west of the town, on a small peninsula overlooking the sea. The citadel-like cemeteries are the final resting place for commonwealth, Greek, Italian and German soldiers.
You will then travel to Alexandria and visit the 3rd Century Pompey's Pillar, a 25 meter red Aswan granite column that is the last of the remaining relics of the Seraphim Temple. Next is Qayetbay citadel, situated on the entrance to Alexandria's eastern harbor. Your last stop is the largest Roman cemetery, the Catacombs consisting of three levels cut in the rock. At the end of your tour, you will be taken back to your hotel.
