What To Expect
Travel northeast of Cebu Island, 35 kilometers from the city, to enjoy the rustic scenery of pottery makers, bamboo crafters, coconut wine gatherers and smiling hawkers at the local market. Begin with a stop at Liloan River and learn how the town got its name; then proceed to a fabled lighthouse on the cliff at Bagakay Point. Get a panoramic view of Mactan Island's northern tip. Then see how bamboo baskets are made and the crispy egg cookies Cebu is famous for.
Take a refreshing coconut drink at a roadside stall before proceeding to Danao City. Originally a local fisherman's wharf, it is today an important port city where daily catch from local fishermen and big fishing boats from Mindanao are unloaded and traded. Be a part of an exciting fish trading activity. Danao is also the jump off point of passenger ferries to the other islands of Cebu & the Visayas. Enjoy lunch with the locals in a hawker center. Take the chance to explore the church and the local market before heading back to the big city.
