Cemeteries usually have fascinating tales to tell. The dead are so interesting by virtue of their silence. Copenhagen's biggest cemetery would certainly prove interesting to the living. It has curious gravestones and plenty of lovely trees. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming. The place, in fact, is quickly becoming more of a park than a resting place for the dead. Notable people are buried here – H.C. Andersen, Jens Juel or Martin Andersen Nexø, and famous Danish philosopher, Søren Kierkegaard. When you’re done communing with the dead, nature, and your fellows, go out to Nørrebrogade St. for some excellent ethnic cuisine.
