About Copenhagen Grundtvigs Kirke

This yellow-brick church on top of a hill seems too big for the village it’s situated in. In fact, it seems to become bigger and bigger the closer you walk towards it. Notice how the top part of the church resembles an organ. Built as a monument in honor of Danish psalm writer Grundtvig, Grundtvigs Kirke took 20 years to construct. The church became a symbol of Danish resistance during the German occupation.
