On the voucher I read, you could not bring food or drinks, water included. The Israelian guide urged us to buy water before passing the border though, because it was life vital. So, we did buy some bottles from a machine on the Israelian side and it was no problem at all. And very necessary. Petra itself is awesome. It took my breathe away.

A one day trip is interesting. A two days trip offers probably the possibelity of starting the tour in Petra early in the morning. That means a better overall visit to the most interesting places in Petra.
