What To Expect
Our suggested program will take you to the center of the city, where you will start your tour with a visit to the National Archaeological Museum. It is the largest archaeological museum in Greece and one of the most important museums in the world devoted to Greek art. It was founded at the end of the 19th century to house and protect antiques from all over Greece, and to display their historical, cultural and artistic value.
After going around the museum, take a panoramic city tour of Athens. Proceed to the Constitution Square - Syntagma, the House of Parliament, and the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier. You will also pass by the National Library, the University, and the Bank of Greece. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their traditional uniform and the Presidential Palace. On your way to the Acropolis you will see the Hadrian's Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era was held in 1896.
Finally, climb up the "Holy Rock" of Acropolis in order to visit the Parthenon, the Herodus Atticus Odeon, the Propylaia, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion.
