The Princes’ Islands are very popular among locals and travelers desiring to get away from the crowds and noise of the city. This chain of nine islands used to be a place of exile for the Ottoman nobility. Today, the people of Istanbul willingly exile themselves for a day of peace and quiet on any one of the islands, where only horse and cart are allowed to transport people around.
