What To Expect
Visit the Patriarchate at Fener, the seat of Orthodox Christianity since Constantine the Great declared it the religion of the Roman Empire.
See the Church of Panagia of Blachernae, the best known and most celebrated shrine of the Holy Virgin famous for the "Hagiasma" (holy water) and the "Hagion Lousma" (sacred bath) there.
Go to St. Savior in Chora (Kariye Museum), originally a Byzantine monastery with fantastic mosaics and frescoes portraying scenes from the bible, in particular the life and miracles of Jesus.
Visit the Anemas Dungeons which were part of the Blachernae Palace, unique in the world with its historical
and architectural structure. It consists of 14 separate dungeons, each having 2 basements below sea-level with cells for the prisoners and two towers. It was used as a prison for high ranked statesmen.
See the Tekfur Palace from outside. It was built in the 12th century adjacent to the city walls. it is the only surviving pavilion of the Blachernae Palace.
Go to the Byzantine City Walls surrounded the acropolis of Byzantium with its 22 km long fortification, 96 towers and 9 main gates dating back to the 5th century.

The pick-up service via shuttle bus takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Those who stay in hotels out of the city center can be transferred to their hotels with an extra fee upon request.
St. Savior in Chora (Kariye Museum) is closed on Wednesdays.
