What To Expect
Take this combo tour! Go on a trip to the ancient Greek Kingdom of Pergamum. Then visit Pamukkale, a UNESCO world heritage site and enjoy everything that this area offers.
Take an early morning flight to Izmir or the night bus to Kusadasi and go to Pergamon, an ancient Greek city and the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamum.
Visit Aesculapium, an ancient medical center built in the name of Aesculapis, the God of Medicine, where different healing methods like blood transfusion, meditation, therapy with music and the sound of water were first used.
After lunch, continue to Pergamum Acropolis where you'll see the Athena and Trojan Temples, the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Dionysos, the Gymnasium of Youth, Odeon, Library, Agora, the Great Theatre and Roman Baths.
Drive to Pamukkale (Cotton Castle), a beautiful and spectacular natural site near Denizli, which is unique in the world. Thermal spring waters have carved the fantastic formation of stalactites here. Its thermal waters have been used since Roman times for their therapeutic powers. Situated on the plateau, you'll get a chance to see the thermal centers, thermal pools and ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis. The ancient thermal baths have been restored and converted into an archaeological museum, which you will be visiting.
