“This food tour was one of the highlights of our Kuala Lumpur trip. Not only did we get to sample some of the best foods in KL, but it helped us to get out bearings around some of most KL's diverse neighbourhoods. ...Looise W., United Kingdom – See more reviews
What To Expect
Experience the true Malaysian (Malay, Chinese and Indian) culture and delighting the best food it has to offer. This fully interactive 3 hour walking tour takes you through the backstreets and alleys of Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs by foot (what else!).
The history of Malaysia is alive today and can be experienced on a plate. Check out the Little India / Brickfields area where there is a strong Indian influence to the architecture, the music and the food. Sample a delicious serving of local cuisine from a banana leaf where the food is the king without the tourist glitz.
We'll seek out the sweets vendors for maybe a fresh banana fritter, some sticky sweet Gulab Jamu or the local favorite Cendol (shaved ice, plum sugar, kidney beans and coconut milk jelly).
Hop on the local monorail to be swept from India to China. We'll bustle our way into China Town for a totally different vibe. Satisfy your tongue with some wonderfully tasty noodles and sample some refreshing lime juice whilst taking in the action all around.
We'll finish off with coffee at an old school coffee house where we can see the evolution of Kuala Lumpur through photos from the past.
As you let your stomach rest a little, your local guide can help you plan your afternoon and more importantly, recommend somewhere great for a fabulous local dinner.
