This
nice area can easily hurt your wallet, with the prestigious
shops in the Burlington, Prince, Piccadilly and Royal
Opera arcades. The luxuous hotel Ritz was built in 1906
and is still one of the best in London. In Pall Mall,
some of the well-known private clubs are established
since the nineteenth century. Behind Pall Mall, King
Street contains lots of art galleries, like Christie's
or Saint James's.
In the northern of the area, at the limit with Soho,
Piccadilly Circus is a little more popular, with many
shops, cinema and theatres.
In the south, between Saint Jame's park and Green Park,
Buckingham palace is the official residence of the britannic
sovereigns. The palace is wonderful and the gardens
are full of rare birds. There's a music living room,
a ball room, and many rooms wich compose the private
appartements of the Queen. The gallery of paintings
and the Queen gallery keep some works of art. You can
visit the State appartements in summer. |
