Soho is now the Chinatown of London
and it stays the hot area. Trafalgar square is the most
lively area in London, with theatres, cinemas, clubs
and restaurants.
You'll have to do shopping in the chinese shops on
Gerrard street or in the bookshops on Charing cross
road, or even in the big commercial & entertainement
centre : Trocadero. Then you could visit the National
gallery, with its 2300 paintings from the thirteenth
century until today, and the national portrait gallery,
just next door. In front of the building, there's a
great church : Saint Martin-in-the-fields, where you
can often listen to a concert.
At the north of these places, in the heart of Soho,
the Berwick street market offers fresh vegetables every
day, and low-prices are guaranted. At the west, Liberty's
was Arthur Lasenby's first shop; now it sells textures
and furnitures. |
