What To Expect
Discover the Pope city with your guide during a walking guided tour of the historic center. You will see the famous Avignon Bridge, cathedral and garden of the Doms, church Saint Pierre, Horloge square, pope palace and pope city. You can decide to visit the Pope palace by yourself (audio-guide) instead of having a walking tour with your guide.
You will then drive to the hilltop villages of Luberon and first stop in Fontaine de Vaucluse, famous for its mythic spring and paper mill. Free time at leisure in the village to see the water wheel, visit Petrarch museum, walk along the Sorgues river to the mythic spring and visit the paper mill to learn everything about natural paper making process.
Next stop for a photo session in the Cistercian abbey of Sénanque built among lavender fields (during blooming season).
You will reach Gordes, classified as one of the most beautiful village of France and classified as monument by UNESCO since 1977. Free time to visit the place, Saint Firmin palace, church or Saint Firmin caves. Lunch at leisure.
You will finally drive along typical Provencal landscape to Roussillon, a village perched atop an ochre rock formation called the "Provencal Colorado", a place not to be missed!
Time at leisure to stroll down the village or walk along the "ochre path" (duration: 30mn).
And return to Marseille after enjoying all the beauty of Provence
