What To Expect
Explore the charming city of Colonia del Sacramento declared World's Heritage by the UNESCO for its incrediblly well preserved architecture and cobbled streets, that date back to the colonial period, when it was disputed by Portugueses and Spanish.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Montevideo, and we will go to Colonial del Sacramento, where we will explore the typical streets and colonial houses. We will go through Calle de los Suspiros, one of the most symbolic streets of the city, in the heart of the old town. It survives since the colonial period, when the Portugueses dominated the region. Admire the beauty of the landscape, with the Rio de la Plata at the end of the emblematic street.
Visit as well Santisimo Sacramento's church, admire its sumplicity and its Portuguese colonial style. After that, we will see the Bastion de San Pedro, incredible vestiges of the ancient walls that protected once the city. Then we will pass by the Rambla, next to the huge Rio de la Plata, and we will visit the bullring, Real de San Carlos, built in 19th century. See also San Benito's chapel, and admire its simple and charming style. We will finish our tour in the port, from where we will go back to the downtown. Once there, enjoy some free time, and have a delicious lunch.
At the end of the day, we will go back to your hotel in Montevideo.
