What To Expect
We will go on a drive around the city of Nairobi, once a swamp city and now a bustling commercial area that is a melting pot of cultures. We will pass by modern day Nairobi landmarks in the central business district such as the Parliament buildings and Kenyatta International Conference Center. We will also visit the city market where you can possibly get good bargains for souvenirs.
We will then visit the home of pioneer coffee farmer and acclaimed writer Karen Blixen, famous for her book "Out of Africa." The home has been converted into a museum and will provide us with an opportunity to step back in time and gain insight into this remarkable woman's life. See how she adjusted to the white settler life in pre-Independence Kenya and admire the well-preserved lion-skin carpet, colonial style china, paintings, and books. Walk through the immaculately kept gardens and get a magnificent view of the Ngong Hills.
