What To Expect
Our first stop will be Kourion, an ancient Greek city-kingdom, which dates back to the 10th century BC and flourished between the 8th and 5th Centuries BC. There we will see many excavations including the complex of Eustolios and admire the magnificent amphitheater with its spectacular views of Episkopi Bay.
We continue on and pass by the village of Kolossi to see the medieval castle, a former crusader stronghold.
We will then drive to Limassol and 'Cyprus Land', a unique project dedicated to the medieval history of Cyprus which found itself in the middle of the wars for dominance in the Mediterranean and the Middle
East and the Crusades to free the Holy Land. Modern technology will enable us to see a spectacular miniature replica of the island of Cyprus with its castles and monasteries, ancient cities and ports. We will also see how the knights used to live and the ship which brought Berengaria to the island. This is a great opportunity to get an overview of the history and geography of the whole island and its most important monuments in a short time! We arrive at Limassol Old Port to walk along the narrow streets with their vibrant cafes and stalls selling local delicacies and souvenirs. Free time will be given for lunch and exploring the old quarter and medieval castle or to visit the new Limassol Marina.
On the way back to Paphos, we will stop at the spectacular Rock of Aphrodite, where according to legend, the Goddess of Love and Beauty was born from the waves.
