What To Expect
Participants of this tour will enjoy an exciting day trip to the town of Chantilly to visit the Chateau de Chantilly, a castle constructed in the 15th century which was then reconstructed in the 18th century after being destroyed in the French revolution. The castle is composed of two attached buildings, namely the Grand Chateau and the Petit Chateau. An equestrian show for about 20 minutes will be enjoyed by the participants in the morning.
Among the many attractions found inside this castle is the Musee Conde, one of the finest art galleries in France which houses about 2,500 drawings and 1,500 manuscripts in it library. The most famous of its 200 illuminated manuscripts being the Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, a book of hours which was used in the Middle Ages for Christian devotion.
A visit to the Living Museum of the Horse will take guests into 31 rooms containing over a collection of 1,200 drawings, sculptures, paintings, and ceramics surrounding equine matters such as riding equipment, art, and horse-drawn transport.
As designed by the famous French gardener, Andre Le Notre, the breathtaking French-styled gardens of the Chantilly is proven to be a masterpiece. The garden was designed with a cascade, a rustic ersatz village (Hameau de Chantilly), and intricately-designed pavilions.
This tour will end with the transport of participants back to 2 Rue des Pyramides.
