Experience a day filled with a whirlwind of French history and culture as you travel to Fontainebleau, a beautiful French commune located on the south-east of central Paris. Hotel pickups of the participants from Paris will mark the start of this tour.

Fontainebleau holds the largest land area in the Ile-de France region, making it a perfect venue for weekend getaways for the Parisians. Among the popular sites in Fontainebleau is its lush forest inhabited by various wild trees and plants and the Royal Château de Fontainebleau, the chosen residence of many well-known French royals such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis XIII, Alfonso XIII, and Henry III of France.

As you roam round the lavish 1530-room residence, you will be able to visit some of the apartments used and customized by the royals to suit their needs. Open to the public are the apartments from the Napoleon III era, the Council Chamber, the Guard Room, the apartment of Madame de Maintenon, and the Ballroom.

Other popular rooms to visit in this castle are its four museums: the Napoleon I Museum (a collection of various artifacts from the imperial families, costumes, gold and silverware, and many art pieces), the Galerie de Peinture (the Paintings Gallery), the Chinese Museum of the Empress (a collection of the Far-Eastern treasures of Empress Eugenie), and the Furniture Gallery (a collection of artworks, textiles and furniture gathered from the château itself). Along with the tour guide, you will also get to visit the Francis I art gallery and the Chapel of the Trinity.

This tour will end with the hotel drop-offs of all the participants back to Paris.
