What To Expect
Join an enjoyable bike tour at the Loire Valley along with a knowledgeable tour guide who will take you to two of the most visited châteaux in the area and to an open market in Blois as well. This tour will be initiated with meetups at the designated meeting point.
A train ride from Paris will take you to the town of Blois. This particular town was the favorite residence of the French Kings in the Middle Ages, another reason why more than 40 châteaux were built there. Its cobblestone streets, ruins from the Middle Ages, and fantastic view of the river makes it a great visit for any visitor exploring the country. Bite down on light snacks upon your arrival at Blois.
Next, go on a guided tour of the Blois Château, a fascinating castle that boasts of its four major wings, each built with different types of architecture: Classical, Gothic, Flamboyant Gothic, and Early Renaissance.
Afterwards, stroll around the open-air market in Blois to shop for food that you can eat for lunch.
Follow some bike trails and trek to where the Chambord Château is located. Visit another amazing château which blends the elements of Italian renaissance and medieval French architecture. Known for its helix staircase, Leonardo da Vinci has been rumored to be the architect behind this magnificent staircase where one going downwards and one going upwards will never meet in between the trips.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic in the park where you can rest your legs, admire the sights, and breathe in the fresh countryside air. Go on a wine tasting experience before you hop on your bikes to travel back to the train station through some bike trails around Blois.
This tour will end with a train ride back to Paris.
