What To Expect
Begin the tour with a visit to the Clos Montmartre, a vineyard considered to be the most ancient and most beautiful in Paris. Being the only remaining and working vineyard in Paris, the Clos Montmartre is a delightful sight to tourists and locals alike. Sample their wine and learn about the vineyard's history from your knowledgeable guide. Before heading to the next destination, take an etched wine glass as a souvenir with you.
Then, head over to the areas in Montmartre where famous artists such as Picasso, Utrillo, and Modigliani painted, drank, lived and danced. Hear stories of how these "starving artists" traded their priceless works of art for supplies and food. Walk through the cobblestone streets and hidden alleyways as your guide entertains you with lively and educational stories about the area.
Take pictures as you stop by the widely popular windmills of the Moulin de la Galette and the Moulin Rouge. Walk by popular cabarets and bistros whose facades have been captured on canvas, making them among the city's icons. Stroll by the Place du Tertre, commonly known as the Artists' Square where you may see dozens of local artists and their magnificent works of art displayed on easels.
Admire the gleaming exterior of the Sacré Coeur Basilica which sits atop a hill. See marvelous panoramic views of the Parisian skyline and the surrounding city as you stand on the hilltop.
Finally, end the tour with a visit to the filming locations of the highly acclaimed 2001 French film, Amélie. See the cafe where the protagonist, Amelie Poulain worked as well as the other nearby locations from the movie.
