Royal Day in Versailles - Castle and Trianon Day Trip

You’ll need a whole day to enjoy and make the most of Versailles! Your visit starts with a guided tour of the Royal Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors and the Queen’s private apartment.

End of the morning:
- from April 1-October 31: walk through the “bosquets” of the “Petit Parc” (small gardens).
- from November 1-March 31 : excursion by miniature train around the “Grand Parc”
(main gardens).

Lunch is served at a restaurant located in the gardens near the Grand Canal. Afternoon agenda includes the guided visits of Petit and Grand Trianon (vast mansion-style lodges where Louis XV and Louis XVI liked to work and retire from court life) followed by the Queen’s Hamlet which was built for Marie-Antoinette so she could play at being a shepherdess from 1783.

In addition to the usual Versailles Palace program, a special fountains show is offered every Saturdays and Sundays from April 1 to October 26, 2008. The program lets you wander around the groves and pools where the magnificent display of fountains reveals the skill and artistry of three centuries of French garden design and engineering. The display is accompanied by music from one of the famous composers from the court of Louis XIV.
