Day 1 Pack your bags and join your guide for a trip to Red Rock country! Your destination today is Sedona, with its beautiful red rocks and colorful canyons. Enjoy a day at leisure for browsing the many Southwestern art galleries, photograph the unique rock formations, hike a local trail or just relax before embarking on your big adventure! Overnight at Kings Ransom or equivalent.
Day 2 Pack the sunscreen and your sense of adventure. You'll travel to the Hualapai Indian Reservation, headquarters for your one-day whitewater trip in the Grand Canyon. Then journey down the only access road through the Grand Canyon, right to the edge of the Colorado River. Upon boarding the custom-built, 8-passenger, motorized raft, your experienced Hualapai Indian River Guide (the Hualapai have been guiding these tours for over 30 years) will lead you on a 5-hour rafting journey of the Colorado River. Later (weather permitting) you'll be lifted by helicopter to the rim of the canyon where you'll board your vehicle for the return trip. Overnight Kings Ransom or equivalent.
Day 3 Explore the back country of Sedona in an open air jeep. The scenery is magnificent and the ride is thrilling as your local guide takes you to some of our favorite viewpoints along the Soldiers Pass Trail! This afternoon, you can explore on your own or we can schedule an optional scenic and historical tour of Sedona. Rest up this evening and get ready for your hiking excursion to the Grand Canyon tomorrow. Overnight Kings Ransom or equivalent.
Day 4 Explore the Grand Canyon on foot with your local naturalist guide. Your day expedition will begin with a scenic drive and stops at breathtaking Grand Canyon overlooks followed by a delicious picnic lunch along the rim. After lunch, you'll hike between three and five miles into the heart of Grand Canyon depending on the abilities of the group. Remember that Grand Canyon hiking is somewhat strenuous and you should be in fit condition. The elevation change will be approximately 1,000 feet (305 meters.) Please remember to bring adequate water and snacks. You'll return to Sedona this evening, tired but thrilled with this incredible day. Overnight: Kings Ransom or equivalent.
Day 5 Depart Sedona for your outbound flights from Phoenix Airport.
