What To Expect
Don't miss out on the sights and activities offered by the South and South East Iceland!
In 6 days you will snorkel in the pristine waters of the Þingvellir National Park, ride a viking horse, bathe in natural hot springs, explore the terrain of the Vatnajökull glacier, cruise a glacier lagoon, watch for whales, raft the mighty Hvita glacier river and more!
Leaving Reykjavik at 08:00, take a super jeep ride to Landmannalaugar. We'll drive throught the fertile lands of Southern Iceland and the snow-covered Hekla (Iceland's most famous active volcano) on our way to Landmannalaugar. Here you'll have time to explore around and bathe in a nearby natural hot spring stream. On your way back to Reykjavik, you'll stop at the Ljótipollur explosion craters and the scenic Hjálparfoss Waterfall.
We'll start the day at 09:00 to visit the Thingvellir National Park to explore the caves and even snorkel in the pristine waters in the area. In this area, lies a point where the North American and European tectonic plates meet. You can take a dip in the surprisingly clear waters here.
Stretch your legs on a hiking trip on day 3. Leaving at 08:30, we'll take a fairly easy trek on a path on the Reykjadalur Valley where there is an abundance of natural hot springs. After a fairly easy hike, you can bathe in the hot springs. Afterwards, we'll proceed to Eldhestar farm for a horse-riding trip around the farm.
We'll start the day at 07:00 for a trip to the Vatnajökull National Park. Take in the breathtaking natural sights that the Vatnajökull has to offer. See the fantastic crevasses and ice formations as you explore the Virkisjökull Glacier and glacial river. Afterwards, take a boat ride around the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and sail among huge icebergs, with Europe's biggest glacier in your background. After the boat ride, we'll stop for coffee and a warm Icelandic waffel before heading back to Reykjavik.
Leaving Reykjavik at 08:00, we'll stroll you through the popular sights of South Iceland, commonly known as the Golden Circle. You'll see the famous Geysir spew out boiling water to heights of up to 70 meters in the air, stand a few feet away from the majestic Gullfoss river and walk through the birthplace of the oldest still existing parliaments in the world at Thingvellir National Park. Afterwards, we'll have lunch at he Drumbo rafting base camp before we raft the equally beautiful and exciting Hvita River. After your rafting, you can take a refreshing shower and relax in the sauna.
At 09:00, watch for whales and explore the open waters of the North Atlantic Sea with a whale watching trip from the Reykjavik down town harbor. In the afternoon (around 14:30), head to the famous Blue Lagoon for a relaxing dip in mineral-rich waters.
