Rio by Day

This is an excellent option to see the best of Rio if time is limited. In only one day you may visit Corcovado and Sugar Loaf. In the morning you will visit the Christ Statue at Corcovado Mountain by taking the cog train through the luxuriant rain Forest. Enjoy the spectacular views of Rio and the surrounding countryside.

Corcovado mountain stands at 704 meters above sea level. The well known 1000 ton Christ the Redeemer statue can be seen from every corner of the metropolis. Clear visibility, specially in the morning, allowsa spectacular view of the town southern districts of Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana and of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas close to the Botanical Garden. Sugarloaf, Botafogo Bay, Niteroi Bridge, downtown Rio and the Maracana Soccer Stadium are other sites of interest.

After the morning tour, relax and enjoy lunch at a seafood restaurant in Ipanema beach. In the afternoon, we join the Sugar Loaf tour, driving by downtown Rio, with its fine colonial-style Portuguese buildings, and continuing on to the cable car at Prai Vermelha (red beach).

A ride to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain gives you a wonderful view of the city nestled between the mountains and the sea. Downtown Rio, the Southern beaches, Corcovado and Niteroi Bridge lay in front of you. Up there one understands why many people regard Rio de Janeiro as the most beautiful town in the world. Evenings are the best time to visit Sugarloaf and also enjoy the magnificent sunset.

Two cable cars take you to the top of Sugarloaf. The lower cable car takes you 220 m high to Morro da Urca where you already have a beautiful view. The upper cable car takes you from Morro da Urca to Sugarloaf. Once you reached the top just take time and enjoy the unique panorama view, take pictures, have a snack or just relax and enjoy. After riding the cable car back down, passengers are returned to their hotels.
