What To Expect
Embark on a journey leading you to the Appian Way, one of the world's most important road and the most famous Ancient Roman road, as the road closes for a day. Dubbed as the Queen of Roads, Appian Way stretched from Rome to Brindisi making life easier for Romans. Notable historical events happened along the road making it more fascinating to explore the place.
As you glide along the ancient path of Appian Way, you can imagine different historical events such as the crucifixion of Spartacus and his army, the World War II battle of Anzio, and the 1960 Summer Olympics. Appian Way is also lined with monuments and tombs of patrician families. Underneath the road are massive underground catatombs, where early Christians buried their dead and held secret church services. Stops along the way include the impressive Porta San Sebastiano, the biggest and well-preserved gates in Rome, the momentous church of St. Mary in Palmis where Peter had a vision of Jesus and decided to face his destiny, and the ruins of thermal baths. To end the tour, enjoy a typical Roman lunch at Appia Antica.

Participants must be 16 years old to join the tour and must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Segway riders must be over 45 kilos (100 lbs) and less than 113 kilos (250 lbs).
Adequate motor skills is required.
Segways are not recommended for pregnant women.
Bringing of large bags is not recommended. Small lockers are available to store personal items during tours.
The tour has a 2 passenger minimum requirement for operation and is subject to cancellation if this is not met. Please call at least 24 hours prior to departure to confirm schedule.
