Visit the Thermae of Caracalla and admire one of the finest imperial baths of Ancient Rome. The extensive ruins of the Roman Empire, built by Emperor Caracalla, are now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Rome. The Baths of Caracalla are the largest bath complex in the world with 11 hectare bathing facilities that could accommodate more that 1,600 people at a time.
Head towards the remains of Circus Maximus and get an insight on the history of the largest stadium in Ancient Rome, including the legendary episode of the rape of Sabines. Built by King Tarquinio Prisco, the Circus Maximus was used to hold chariot racing events.
Then, cross the Circus Maximus to see the famous Mouth of Truth (Bocca della Verità) in the portico of the Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. A popular tourist attraction causing queues, the Mouth of Truth has attracted the attention of visitors from all over the world as legend says that if a liar puts their hand inside the mouth of the mask, they will lose it.
