Discover imperial and early Christian Rome by peeling back layers and millenniums of history as you descend into the Eternal city's underground burial chambers, its long winding catacombs and its crypts.
Go below and beyond to a time when Christianity was considered a simple cult whose members were executed as pagans and buried as martyrs.
The one and only tour that takes you to crypts and catacombs from different historical eras, in diverse locations and with varying styles.
Much of what Rome has to offer is buried underground and through this tour, our guests can discover the underside of Rome through three select sites - a Skip the Line private, exclusive viewing just for our group of The Cappuccini Crypt (chapel decorated entirely by human bones), Domitilla Catacombs (ancient Christian burial ground) and the Church of San Clemente (built over an ancient fourth century church built over an even older Roman house containing Christian artifacts and a pagan temple -- with ruins reaching 57 feet deep).

Excellent. Friendly, informative, intelligent and articulate guides, Corrine and Violet made this a most enjoyable few hours. I left better informed about more dimensions of this City's entwined history. Friendly fellow travellers always helps too...

The tour was excellent and provided a great insight into the capuchiccini monks and their fascinating history. The catacombs of the early christians was also an experience like no other and it is impossible to imagine without seeing them. However one of our group had claustraphobia and was unable to do this section of the tour so if you also suffer be warned. Our guide Karina was excellent, not only knowlegable about the tour sites but also provided information of the city and its history that greatly increasing our enjoyment during our stay in Rome. would gladly do this tour again but it might not be to everyones tastes.
"Adonay, fue muy instructivo, supo transmitir su pasión por los temas tratados tan solo quizás que iba desmadrado rápido tanto en explicaciones como en el propio recorrido (imagino que por la propia necesidad del tour)"
