Discover one of the ancient Ghetto's throughout Italy and Europe as you explore the characteristic area of the Jewish Ghetto. See the monumental building of the Synagogue, which was built in 1904. Behind the building runs Via del Portico d'Ottavia and inside part of the monument lies the church of St. Angelo in Pescheria.

Continue to the Ponte Fabricio and arrive shortly at Tiberina Island. The island, which is mainly occupied by the Fatebenefratelli Hospital from the 16th century, offers an amazing walk with its typical houses, courtyards and streets reminiscent of its medieval origins.

You will then visit the Trastevere district of Rome, passing through Piazza in Piscinula and Via Arco dei Tolomei. Trastevere is famous for its restaurants, pubs, and enchanting atmosphere especially during the evening. Walking in Vicolo dell'Atleta, we'll see a 13th century construction considered to be the only surviving ancient Jewish synagogue in the quarter from the Middle Ages.

Going back to Via dei Genovesi, we arrive in Piazza Sonnino, which has one of the most well known medieval constructions, the Torre degli Anguillara, better known as the "House of Dante."

Walk down Via della Lungaretta and see the Basilica of St. Maria in Trastevere, one of Rome's medieval gems. Step inside the church and admire its apse containing the famous mosaics with the Coronation of the Virgin and the Stories of the Virgin.

The walking tour ends at the very center of Trastevere. Enjoy a relaxing walk in the district or stop at any of the restaurants or pizzerias for a typical Italian meal.
