What To Expect
Make your Christmas a memorable one with a 5-day stay in Lapland and its capital Rovaniemi, the hometown of Santa Claus. This full-service Christmas package includes everything you can dream of on Christmas: relaxation and good local food, peaceful and white surrounding, most-wanted winter activities such as snowmobiling and husky and reindeer sleigh rides, and of course a little chat with Santa Claus just before his travel around the world!
Upon arrival at the airport, meet your guide and proceed to the safari house located in the city center to get thermal clothing for your whole stay in Rovaniemi. You will be provided with all the information concerning your stay. Later on, you will be transferred to your accommodation. Dinner will be served in the evening. Do not forget to pamper yourself in the sauna for a real Finnish experience!
Breakfast will be served at the restaurant located in your chosen accommodation. Together with your guide, go to the farm where you will meet lovely and energetic huskies and get ready to go on your first adventure.
Enjoy an exciting speedy ride with the huskies in the wintry forest. The dogs will take you for a 2-hour ride in the white covered forest. After the husky ride, the musher will invite you indoors and tell you stories about these strong racing dogs and about their life in the arctic conditions. Enjoy also hot beverages and biscuits around the open fire.
After this unique adventure, return to the city where you will be given free time for lunch (lunch not included in the package price). You may then spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the city at your own leisure. Afterward, you will be transported back to your accommodation.
Dinner will be served in the evening. After a sumptuous dinner at 20:00, be ready to go snowmobiling under the stars. Hop on a snowmobile and head along the forest trails to a hidden Lappish tepee, which is located in the middle of the snowy winter forest.
Upon reaching the Lappish tepee, take a break with snacks and hot beverages around an open fire. Your guide will tell you stories about the magical northern lights, and if lucky, you also might see dancing northern lights on the starry sky. With new arctic experiences, head back to the city center via snowmobile.
On the 3rd day, get ready to discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his trusted helpers. At 09:30, you will be picked up from your accommodation and be transported to the Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle. Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself and take your time to visit Santa's Official Post Office, where letters from all around the world arrive to get sorted. Do some shopping in the many village shops before enjoying a buffet lunch in one of the restaurants of the village.
After lunch, grab your helmet and head for the snowmobiles. After a short instruction in snowmobiling, make your way to a local reindeer farm. Meet Santa's trusted helpers - the reindeer - and try a short reindeer sleigh ride. Taking part in a special "Crossing of the Arctic Circle" ceremony highlights the magical day. Return back to the city by snowmobiles with many new experiences and stories to tell back home. A "Crossing the Arctic Circle Certificate" is given to you as a gift at the end of the safari.
Enjoy then a festive Christmas dinner in your chosen accommodation on Christmas Eve.
Go on a guided tour in Ranua Wildlife Park, located deep in an Arctic forest an hour drive away from Rovaniemi. This park hosts a home for approximately 200 arctic animals such as brown bears, polar bears, lynxes, foxes, numerous birds, wild boars and elks, just to mention a few. After your tour in the park, tempt your taste buds with a buffet lunch and visit souvenir shops and the Fazer candy store.
After eating your breakfast in the restaurant of your chosen accommodation, you will be transported to Rovaniemi airport.
