Dominated by the Piton des Neiges, Cilaos is the sunniest of the 3 cirques. The beneficial effects of its spas have been renowned since the 17th century. In the past, baths were dug directly into the rocks and people used to reach the village sitting on a chair carried by bearers. Cilaos cultivates a traditional gastronomy through its lentils and wine. Its impressive relief and its numerous torrents make it a paradise for mountain sports such as hiking, canyoning, rock climbing and mountain biking.
You may visit the Maison de la Broderie (embroidery). Its purpose is to preserve and develop the Cilaos openwork technique: embroiders try to perpetuate this art introduced in Cilaos in the late 19th century.
Have Creole lunch or picnic before going on to visit the “Chai de Cilaos," the wine storehouse of La Réunion. The first vineyards were introduced in 1771 by French settlers. Cilaos vineyards earned the recognition of the Ministry of Agriculture in the late 1980s. Since 1992, a wine and spirit house enables producers to make quality wine with noble vines (Chenin, Malbec, Black Pinot).

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?
That's ok. We will try to be as flexible as possible. But you must inform us by email of the change or cancellation as soon as possible.
