What To Expect
See some of Saint Petersburg's most iconic and historically significant cathedrals in our tour of St. Isaac's Cathedral, Church of the Savior of the Spilled Blood and St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral. Appreciate the impressive ornamentation of the cathedrals while learning about their places in Russia's history.
Get to visit the magnificent St. Isaac's Cathedral and see it's golden dome which dominates Saint Petersburg's skyline. This majestic cathedral is only comparable to the St. Paul Cathedral in London and the St. Peter Cathedral in Rome. Tour inside the cathedral and marvel at it's impressive size and decorations.
After that, get to tour the Church of the Savior of the Spilled Blood and see the vibrant and elaborate mosaics gracing it's exterior and interior. Famous in history as the site where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated in 1881, the cathedral was dedicated as a memorial to him by his son. Feast your eyes on the lavish architecture which shows influences from medieval Russian structures.
Lastly, we will visit the picturesque St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral. Enjoy the beautiful baroque architecture of the church and the beautiful contrast of it's ice-blue color with it's golden domes. The so called Sailor's Church also contains relics from St. Nicholas and several memorials to the crews of sunken Soviet submarines.
