What To Expect
We head to the Santa Rita Winery to learn about its history. It was founded by Domingo Fernandez Concha, who introduced fine French vines that gave life to its production.
The cellar of this winery has been declared a National Monument and combines the use of the traditional American and French oak wood barrels with modern systems that give a unique taste to their wines.
The Patronal House stands out in a park of 40 hectares, where centenary trees captivate the attention of the visitors. The excursion includes lunch at the winery's restaurant "Dona Paula", named in honor of Paula Jaraquemada, a woman that in the Independence period gave refuge to General Bernardo O'Higgins and 120 of his soldiers. This tour allows us to get in touch with this winery full of history and architectonic beauty and teaches us the whole process of wine production. At the end of the tour, we return to the hotel in Santiago.
