Departure from Santiago towards Colchagua Valley, to get to the town of Santa Cruz, starting the visit to the wineries. This town is known for the simple beauty it has, reflecting the countryside lifestyle.
The Colchagua Valley is recognized for being one of the most fertile ones in the production of fine wine vines, mainly red, renown in the whole world for their excellent quality.
Some of this wineries are Viu Manent, Santa Laura, Bisquert, Mont Gras, Montes, amongst many others. Most of them came up during the 19th century, with fine vines brought from France.
The tour begins visiting one of this wineries, with the chance of knowing the whole process of wine production, the keeping cellars, and finally tasting some of the products in order to get in touch with the final product.
After a short break, another winery is visited to keep learning about the wine world.
Lunch in Santa Cruz, enjoying the quietness of the place and the excellent gastronomy. Then, visit to the Colchagua Museum, the most complete private museum of Chile, that has an interesting collection of insects trapped in amber, and objects of pre-Colombine cultures.
By the afternoon, return to the hotel in Santiago.

"While quite expensive, we very much enjoyed the tour, the guide, the driver, the lunch, the museum. Except; the organic winery Emiliana is a disappointment. The local guide said that she could not show us the wine making equipment because she does not have the key to that building. What a joke and disappointment.
