Wine Train at the Colchagua Valley

Transfer in bus from Santiago to San Fernando, where a classic train that dates back to 1913, is waiting.

At the rhythm of the locomotive it is possible to cover during an hour and a half, the beautiful route between vineyards that decorate the Colchagua Valley. While some of the most famous vineyards are seen on the way, it is likely to be enjoying the flavors of the wines on board of the train. At the same time, the flavor of the typical Chilean snacks such as the “meat empanada” and “arrollado de huaso”, seems unforgettable next to the “payas” (rimes) of a Chilean folklorist that in his music and lyrics describes the traditions of our origins.

Arrival to Santa Cruz, being received by a folkloric group. Then, departure directly to a vineyard of the valley, to learn about the process of wine production and the chance of tasting it. After a short break, another winery is visited to keep learning about the wine world.

Lunch in Santa Cruz, enjoying the quietness of the place and the excellent gastronomy. Then, visit to the Colchagua Museum, the most complete private museum of Chile, that has an interesting collection of insects trapped in amber, and objects of precolombine cultures.

By the afternoon, return to the hotel in Santiago.
