Isla Negra, Home of Pablo Neruda

Departure from Santiago towards the Pacific Coast by the Autopista del Sol (Suns Highway), in order to get to the beaches of San Sebastin, Las Cruces and El Tabo, until getting to Isla Negra (Black Island).

This place of dark sands, eucalyptus and pine trees, enchanted Pablo Neruda, winner of the Literature Nobel Prize in 1971, that built there one if his houses, that today is as a museum. Pablo Neruda decorated each corner of the house with sculptures, adornments, paintings and books, that had some relation with the sea. Leisure time to visit the house and its garden. The tour continues visiting other beaches of the area, such as El Quisco and Algarrobo, of tranquil waters that are ideal for practising de nautical sports.

Later return by the highway, up to Pomaire, art crafts town that still keeps the ancient tradition of working clay, with a broad variety of elaborated products and different techniques.

In Pomaire it is also possible to enjoy exquisite typical Chilean plates such as the la empanada Pomairina, (breaded meat) that is known for its giant size.

Leisure time to walk around the handicraft fair, eat something and take photographs.

Return to the hotel in Santiago.
