What To Expect
Explore the countries by the shore of the Baltic sea! Discover the cultures and see the different historical and cultural sites in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in this 10-day tour through the Baltic states.
Day 1 - Arrival in Tallinn
Tour participants will have their check-in and the welcome meeting.
Day 2 - Tallinn-Cesis
After having breakfast, we will drive to the country to the picturesque Lahemaa National Park to see the Manor Houses in Palmse and Vihula. The charming manor houses are now fully restored and renovated for the enjoyment of visitors. The tour will then go on to the university town of Tartu to visit it's lovely Old Town and the University. We will then head on to enter Latvia and to the city of Cesis where we will stay for the night.
Day 3 - Celsis-Vilnius
We will drive out to the resort town of Sigulda to see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the ruins of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword. After the tour of the ruins, we will stop at the stately Rundale Palace which has served as the summer residence of the Duke of Courland. We will then travel on to Vilnius.
Day 4 - Vilnius-Klaipeda
We will have a sightseeing tour of the beautiful baroque town of Vilnius with a panoramic tour of the city and a walking tour of the Old Town to see famous sights such as the Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower and the Gates of Dawn. We will then continue to see the beautifully preserved Trakai Castle which is located in an island in Lake Galve. After our visit to the castle, we will travel on to Klaipeda.
Day 5 - Klaipeda
The day is reserved for an optional tour to the Curonian Spit which is a thin stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. The tour will stop at the Hill of Witches and Nida. There will also be an optional Lithuanian dinner at Restaurant 19th Century.
Day 6 - Klaipeda-Riga
After breaking our fast, we will have a tour of the former German city of Klaipeda. Wander on the narrow, cobblestone streets of the Old Town to visit the Theatre Square and the Aennchen von Tharau Fountain. We will then head on to the enchanting Samogitia National Park to have a walking tour of Lake Plateliai. After our tour we will visit one of the most significant and awe-inspiring monuments in Lithuania, the Hill of Crosses. We will then head on to Riga.
Day 7 - Riga
We will have a walking tour of the lovely city of Riga in the morning. The tour will take us to the Old Town to see Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter's Church and more. You can then choose to join the tour to the resort town of Jurmala and to have the optional Latvian dinner at Restaurant La Boheme.
Day 8 - Riga-Tallinn
The tour will continue on to the summer capital of Estonia, the town of Parnu. We will have a short tour around this charming resort town before heading onto Tallinn.
Day 9 - Tallinn
The sightseeing tour of Tallinn will begin with a walking tour of Tallinn's medieval Old Town. See the old city walls, Dome Church, the Old Town Hall and the Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon, there is an optional trip to Kadriorg Park and a visit to Kumu art museum which houses collections of classic and contemporary art. In the evening, you could have an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Peppersack.
Day 10 - Tallinn Departure
