What To Expect
Learn about Estonia's history and culture through their art in the Kumu Art Museum. Stroll around the museum and enjoy it's clean and simple architecture and the spacious, light filled exhibits. Explore the museum with a guided tour of the exhibits.
The Museum has 3 floors for its exhibitions. The first exhibition is entitled "Treasury" and features artworks from the 18th century to the end of World War II. You can see a variety of works here, from a painting from an anonymous portraitist to Johann Köler, Kristjan Raud and Konrad Mägi. The next collection is entitled "Difficult Choices" and features works from Estonia's time under Soviet rule. The collection explores the depths of the relationship between the Soviet state and art. The last exhibit features a changing variety of temporary exhibits of contemporary art from Estonia and abroad. There is also a cafe with a wide selection of reasonably priced food and beverages and a museum shop selling publications and souvenirs within the museum premises.
