Tel Aviv is Israel’s sexiest and trendiest city. We urge you to sample the city’s edgy nightlife, world-class shopping, and fabulous beaches first before going afield towards the ancient sites surrounding the city. After all that partying, maybe what you need is mud bath in the Dead Sea!
Day 1
Masada Fortress & the Dead Sea
Venture out into the Judean Desert first thing in the morning. Your first stop is the 2000-year old fortress Masada, built by King Herod on top of a formidable mesa overlooking the Dead Sea. Then drive via Ein Gedi towards Qumran to view the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Finally, wash away the grime of a day of traveling in the mineral-rich Dead Sea. Be sure to roll in the mud to benefit from the therapeutic qualities of the Dead Sea mud.
