Sunrise Express 1 Day Kyoto

Ride the Shinkansen, Japan's famous Bullet Train, to Kyoto to experience its 1,200 years of rich history. On the way, you may even see Mt. Fuji from the train! Spend the afternoon exploring the city before walking through Sanjusangendo Temple, Japan's longest wooden structure. Enjoy a sweeping view of the city from Kiyomizudera Temple, and visit Heian Jingu Shrine, a partial replica of the Imperial Palace.

Itinerary / Activity Schedule

You Will be visiting the following places by bus.

Tokyo- Kyoto - Tokyo
Morning transfer to Tokyo Station and board a Shinkansen train for the classical city of Kyoto. (Standard-class reserved seat)

Enjoy a splendid view of imposing Mt.Fuji en route (weather permitting).

Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon sightseeing of the city, visiting Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1,001 impressive images of Buddha, vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine, and Kiyomizudera Temple with its wooden veranda.

Early evening board a Shinkansen train back to Tokyo. (Standard class reserved seat)

Transfer to a major hotel in Tokyo.

- On Tuesdays in Jan., Jul., Aug. & Dec., ""Nijo Castle"" is closed and visit ""Ryoanji Temple"" instead.

Kyoto Imperial Palace

- On Saturdays, Sundays & national holidays and some other days, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed and visit ""Nishi Honganji"" instead.

- On Feb.25, Mar.25, Aug.25 & Nov.25, visit ""Ryoanji Temple"" instead.

- You are required to fill out the form (your name, sex, age, nationality), when you enter ""Kyoto Imperial Palace"".
2010: You will visit Chionin Temple instead of Heian Jingu Shrine on Oct. 22.
