As we make our way to Kyoto on the Shinkansen train, we will get a splendid view of the imposing Mt. Fuji on a clear day and lunch will be served at the New Miyako Hotel.
We will spend the afternoon touring Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. We will visit the Todaji Temple, housing a great image of Buddha and the colorful Kasuga Shrine with 3,000 beautiful lanterns as well as the Deer Park where many tame deer freely roam about.
On the second day, there will be a morning sightseeing trip in Kyoto where we will visit the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and the Kyoto Imperial Palace. After lunch at the Kyoto Handicraft Center, we will go around the city visiting the Sanjusangendo Hall with its 1001 impressive images of Buddha, the vermillion-hued Heian Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple with its wooden veranda.
The activities during the third day will be left entirely up to you until the time comes to board the evening train back to Tokyo.

- Nijo Castle (on Tuesdays in January, July, August and December, the Nijo Castle is closed and we will visit the Ryoanji Temple instead)
- Kyoto Imperial Palace (on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and selected dates, the palace is closed and will be replaced with a visit to Kitano Tenmangu; On February 25, March 25, August 25 and November 25, we will visit the Ryoanji Temple instead)

- Please carry your baggage on your own. Trains do not have areas for storing large pieces of baggage. We recommend leaving large pieces of baggage at your hotel in Tokyo while you travel by train.

That's ok. We will try to be as flexible as possible. But you must inform us by email of the change or cancellation as soon as possible.
